- The mission of Geneva Academy is to assist Christian families train up well-educated, godly children. As a classical Christian school, we do this by integrating faith and reason, by cultivating virtuous character, and by developing all of a child’s faculties. We have a clear vision of what we would like our graduates not just to know, but to be. Modern education seeks to train for a job or a career. Classical Christian education (CCE) prepares students to be excellent learners, rigorous thinkers, and effective doers. Geneva has a Trivium-based approach (the classical Trivium consists of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric). We pay a lot of attention to Christian integration: students examine topics through the lens of Biblical teaching, understanding the nature of God, humanity, and the cosmos. Character Education is vital: virtue and right affections are emphasized, as we aim to raise students who are not just knowledgeable, but also good and righteous. We do not neglect the traditional Liberal Arts: students study literature, history, theology, language, rhetoric, aesthetics, and writing. These used to be the gateway to effective citizenship, and they still are! We also emphasize dialogue, discussion, and the asking of probing questions to stimulate critical thinking and illumination.
